Bonhill Group’s Information Age and DiversityQ welcome you to the Women in IT Virtual Summit Ireland.

The absence of women in technology stretches from the classroom to the boardroom. Less than 1 in 20 girls studied engineering or technology in 2017 and the statistics are much lower when considering BAME children and those from disadvantaged backgrounds. 40% of female engineering graduates in Ireland never pursue a career in that field. At the top levels in big tech enterprises, we find that women make up only 12% of the CEO roles in Ireland.

The tech industry in Ireland employs over 37,000 people, is home to the top 5 global software companies, and 90% of the top US tech companies (IDA Ireland). It has a flourishing tech start-up scene, even outside of Dublin. However, of the 142 start-ups in Cork, only 26 are owned by women (The Independent, 2019). What’s more, female founders receive 50% less VC funding...but bring in 20% more revenue (Women in Tech Dublin, 2019).

At a time with so many global issues at play, it’s imperative that we keep the conversation going and push for a more representative workplace and tech industry, to emerge from this pandemic in the best shape possible, curating innovative solutions with diverse teams.

The summit will provide a platform for delegates from around the world to unite, share knowledge, learn and foster new connections. We will showcase key regional experts and highlight initiatives that focus on CHANGING the statistics around D&I not only in the tech space, but in society. Together with our speakers, sponsors and partners we will cover the most pressing tech issues and the key diversity & inclusion conversations.

We can’t wait to collaborate and work on solutions together with the Women in IT community – register your free place today!
